Dave's Cupboard: Pickled Lamb's Tongues

This gentleman took it upon himself to produce home made pickled lambs tongue and they look great! My mouth is watering just looking at the picture of the finished product. Of course I am a person that is pickled crazy, pickle it and I will eat it!

We have looked at making them commercially but unfortunately in our part of the country pickled lambs tongue is a product that is nearly unknown. The expense to make them commercially requires a good market locally and we do not have that in Wisconsin.

We will continue to search for a commercial producer and if we find one we will definitely stock them.

The link to Dave's Cupboard Blog is below which gives great instructions on how to do it at home. Just a note of caution, be sure to refrigerate any homemade pickled products for safety.

  1. Thanks for the link!

And thanks also for stressing the importance of keeping pickled meats refrigerated! Cured and pickled meats are safe for relatively long storage as long as they stay cold!
